Help St. Mary’s Grow and Prosper

St. Marys School of Winchester’s parents and caregivers are an important part of our school’s diverse and vibrant school community.  Each and every year, parents share their time and talents with the school in a broad variety of areas. Depending on your specific interests and the school’s goals for the academic year, we do our best to match your interests with key initiatives that are vitally important to supporting the school’s mission and ensuring academic and faith-based school leadership.

We hope you’ll review the Engage! Initiative Teams below and that you’ll identify an area where you’d like to contribute.

Engage! Initiative Teams:

  • Teacher Support: Gain clarity around teacher needs, mobilize parents to support current needs of teachers, interface with fundraising lead where helpful.  Current areas of work are: room parents, library helpers, lunch duty, recess duty, etc.
  • Fundraising: Design and implement fundraising activities that will meet or exceed annual fundraising goals, develop an alumni giving program, seek donations and grants.
  • Enrollment Demand: Build enrollment demand by identifying key enrollment building activities and participating in these activities to increase awareness of and interest in joining St. Mary’s School.
  • Academy Initiative: Support the Principal and Faculty in developing initiatives that bring us closer to meeting the 12 standards of excellence for catholic academies, as put forth by the Archdiocese of Boston.
  • Challenge Each Child Initiative: Support the Principal and Teacher Leadership Team in research, volunteerism, and other activities that allow us to exhibit continuous improvement in our goal to challenge each and every child, each and every day.
  • Healthy School Initiative: Evaluate, prioritize, begin implementation on a holistic set of activities (movement, diet, environment) that ensure demonstrated leadership in teaching healthy life habits for our students.
  • Continuity Initiative: Actively support the integration of Pre-school and Kindergarten families into the broader community, ensure a solid understanding of the needs of families with young children/ multiple children in the School Community.  Design programs to further “whole school continuity”.
  • Green School Initiative: Identify and implement practices that further reduce our impact on the environment.

St. Mary’s School I.D. #8112

“We have been a part of the St. Mary’s family for 4 years now and sending our children there for school was one of the best decisions we have made. The teachers, students, environment and parents make St. Mary’s a wonderful part of our lives.”

-Tara Salvietti, Proud Parent
